# Compliance software alternatives for small companies

Alternatives

# The alternatives are good products. They are priced for a company you are not.

Vanta, Drata, Delve and Comp AI are real tools built by smart people, and plenty of companies are right to buy them. The question is not which is best in the abstract. It is which one is built for a team of 5 to 50 with no compliance function, no procurement process, and a customer deadline. That is a narrower question, and it has a clearer answer.

[See the head-to-head pages](#head-to-head)[See our pricing](/pricing/)

01 / The pricing model

## Per seat is not a price, it is a bet on your headcount

Most compliance platforms charge by seat, by framework, or by both, usually after a discovery call. That model makes sense when a compliance team buys it: the budget is planned, the headcount is stable, and procurement expects a negotiation. It works badly when you are 12 people, hiring, and the deal blocked on SOC 2 closes next quarter.

### You pay for growth you have not had yet

Adding people to a per-seat contract raises your compliance bill for reasons unrelated to compliance. We charge $250 a month regardless. Your 40th employee costs the same as your 4th.

### You cannot see the number

Enterprise quotes start around $7,500 a year and go up from there; the enterprise tier runs into five and six figures. You find that out on the second call. Our price is on the pricing page and you can subscribe without speaking to anyone.

### You pay for a surface you will not use

400+ integrations and 35+ frameworks are genuinely valuable if you need them. If you need SOC 2 and ISO 27001 and you run on AWS and GitHub, you are funding a catalog you will never open.

02 / Honest part

## When one of them is the better call

We would rather lose the deal than have you find this out in month three.

VantaYou are an enterprise with multi-framework requirements, you need 400+ integrations into an existing stack, or you need specialist frameworks like FedRAMP or HITRUST. You have the budget for an enterprise tier and a team to run it.

DrataYou need the breadth and the account management that comes with an enterprise contract, and the roughly $7,500-a-year entry point is comfortably inside your budget rather than a decision.

DelveYou want AI agents that fill out inbound questionnaires for you, you need FedRAMP, HIPAA or EU AI Act coverage, or you want a dedicated compliance expert and white-glove onboarding included.

Comp AIYou want the core to be open source so you can read it, audit it or self-host it, or their approach simply suits how your team already works. They quote after a call rather than publishing a price.

03 / The case for us

## What a small company actually gets here

### One price you can see

$250 a month, flat, unlimited users, both frameworks, self-serve signup. No discovery call to learn the number.

### We ran the audit ourselves

AuditBadger completed a SOC 2® Type II examination inside AuditBadger, with no external consultants. The gaps we hit became product changes.

### The whole program in one tool

Risk register, vendors, incidents, business continuity, assets, training and a Trust Center included, because four tools is not a plan at this size.

### Founders, not a success rep

Onboarding run by the people who built it, and a shared Slack channel on every account.

One thing we will not claim on any of these pages: continuous monitoring. Our scheduled checks run once a month, plus on demand whenever you press the button. Several of the alternatives run more frequently, and if that is the deciding factor you should weigh it.

Competitor details were checked against each vendor's own website on August 24, 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a price, we say so instead of guessing. [Spotted something out of date? Tell us.](mailto:hello@auditbadger.com?subject=Comparison%20page%20correction)
